If your cloned drive is a GPT disk, make sure the UEFI boot mode is enabled, and if it is an MBR disk, then set it to Legacy boot mode. If your computer does not support UEFI boot mode, you need to do a GPT to MBR conversion before you can boot from the cloned drive.

I'm trying to clone my 1TB spinning MBR disk to a 1TB ssd (also MBR). Install the new SSD onto a spare sata port. Boot to windows 10, run Macrium Reflect v7.3.5321 (free edition). Select 'Clone this disk' and walk through the steps to put the same partitions onto the SSD. Wait an hour. Running sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth before cloning might do the trick. You could also try the onboard windows backup and restore to the new ssd with that. It should perform the necessary operations to boot just fine. –
I found another thread, dealing with the issue of not starting system (not cloned with Macrium) on the new NVMe SSD. My issue is, that the system from the original HP built-in SSD also does not start any longer. In another thread again was stated this could be an issue of the mechanical Connection.
